Manchester-based duo Shield Patterns have announced details of their second album, set for release on September 2nd.
Mirror Breathing is the follow-up to 2014's highly-praised Contour Lines and was written and recorded at the bands own Cloud Blunt Moon studio. You can hear a first cut from the album entitled Dusk below. Mirror Breathing will be released on 180g vinyl, CD and digital and some tour dates to support the record have just been announced. The record also features cellist Julia Kent (Antony and the Johnsons / The Leaf Label) which marks the first musical contribution to Shield Patterns outside of core members Claire Brentnall and Richard Knox.
Claire had this to say about Mirror Breathing:
"The album for me is about feeling connected; exploring what it means to be a friend, to be in love, to be an individual, to be part of a collective unconscious. It's about the beauty of imperfection, of making mistakes, and the discoveries that are made by chance as we learn to exist."
