There is a new Glissando song ‘For The Light’ now up on Myspace. It’s a very rough demo and the finished version will probably appear on the next record. It’s been so long since we made any new music available we thought it might keep you interested.

It is also available on the new FREE Gizeh Records downloadable sampler which you can get from here.

We have tour dates to announce!

TOUR DIARY
YORK
Van trouble. Welcome to the tour. Thank you Mr AA.
York is our first show with Paul and Lauren and indeed Glissando as a 5-piece. We got the usual splendid treatment thanks to Joe and we play surprisingly well for the first night. Our friend Phil (Debutant) is supporting tonight... such a lovely man.
…..so much for not getting wasted on the first night.

LEEDS
Hometown shows are always a little weird for us but the crowd is good and we play well again, Tim does a grand job with the sound, Elly tries to break the drum. More partying and tired times as the early morning descends into talking about Italian football and anal troubles.

NORTHAMPTON
Finally we hit the road properly with Her Name is Calla's van and Thom Calla as driver and trombone player for the week. Sarah joins us to do some on tour filmage for a few shows as we take on the Saturday night Northampton masses - armed with too much wine and some white noise.
The remainder of the evening is a total blur, I'm not sure if I've ever played a show that drunk before. I'd like to take this opportunity to state that not all the people in Northampton are thieves which I apparently claimed mid-set. Sophie met a native called Silver Fox Johnson.

NOTTINGHAM
By now John Cleese (our sat nav guide) has become a firm favorite. Tonight we play a tiny tea room in Nottingham, it's busy and we are crammed in a corner of the room. Tim does wonders with not much to work with, the crowd is respectful but I felt somewhat muted. Not sure why... maybe the crazy weather that has decided to come and have some fun with us. Back to Leicester for the SUPERBOWL!

BRIGHTON
I get a Sophie snowball to the face the first time I leave the house to get to the van. Lauren continues to take amazing photographs and falls in love with Thom's homemade porridge. The weather is horrible and the feeling is the show might be off tonight. We head off to Brighton with fingers crossed. The M25 is insane, someone managed to build a 6ft snowman on the central reservation. We shout LIAR! at some people in a car claiming (by means of a sticker in their back window) that they have a baby on board.
The gig is ON! We get treated so well by the people at the Freebutt and play on a huge stage (well huge for us). Today Lauren broke the cunt barrier. Much drinking and an epic Mercury Rev (Yerself Is Steam) on vinyl moment happens for me and Elly at our hosts place. Good times.

LONDON
Thankfully we get a wonderful morning/afternoon to hang in Brighton and do some filming with Sarah. The beach is beautiful and I manage to convince some people in a tiny art shop to let Sarah interview me in their doorway. We find a Fish and Chip shop on the sea front and we charm the lovely Polish lady who runs it. We eat far too much. The main lesson I have learnt from this tour is to always order bread after you have seen the size of your portion!
London is a strange place - the level of respect to others is especially low in this part of the country. We bid sad goodbyes to Sarah.

MANCHESTER
Thom is sleeping in the van each night to keep guard. On a sunny London morning he opens the side of the van to brush his teeth with the lovely and ever-polite London commuters dashing by. They are not amused.
In need of some entertainment we decide it's a good idea to visit the Whipsnade Zoo. On arrival at the Zoo (which we found to be hideously out of our way) we discover the disturbing fact that it's £15 each entry fee. Thom pulls a smooth one by saying to the attendant " I think we've made a horrible mistake, can we please turn around?” Priceless.
Sophie rides shotgun up front with me and Thom on the way to Manchester meaning she must learn how to roll a cigarette. Nice try, maybe next time.
Tonight we decide to start playing quieter than the previous shows. It works like a charm. Best show yet. The lovely Spokes people are hear and Tim does the sound from behind a glass panel. A strange notion.
Sophie's parents and wonderful dog Max treat us perfectly. Paul's favorite song is now I Got 5 On It.

LANCASTER
Tonight we have visuals!! Thanks to borrowing Sophie's Dad's projector and Sarah's Bucharest film. The Yorkshire House is one of our favorite venues, the sound on stage is incredible. Paul's best friend Barry from Fell Foot Wood is here, a fine man. Richard - the promoter is as kind as ever and after two great shows in a row everyone is happy!
Tonight we stay in a travelodge just north of Lancaster. What we didn't know however was that the Bay City Rollers were staying there too!!! There is only one original member left. Does that mean if he leaves or dies they instantly become a tribute band? The guy on
reception nearly shits himself at the prospect of two bands staying in his travelodge. We get stupidly drunk on red and white wine in our room, Sophie ends up with her hand in a pot of humous and then wipes it on my pants around the cock area. Thanks.

EDINBURGH
The music on this tour has been impeccable so far, Paul and I choose Songs from Northern Britain by Teenage Fanclub to soundtrack the wonderfully sunny, snowy hill-topped and scenic journey North to Scotland.
Our previous Edinburgh experiences have been of a high standard and this time is no different. The venue is really busy, the crowd is silent and the sound is amazing. Thanks to Euan @ Trampoline for putting together a great night (and good luck with the new family addition!). The shows keep getting better. Our friend Ally kindly puts us up for the night and much whiskey is consumed.

GLASGOW
We take to opportunity to have a wander around Edinburgh before we have to leave for Glasgow. Tim and i fall in love with a beautiful French girl who serves us an amazing panini. We wish we could stay and watch the England Rugby game but Glasgow awaits.
The Captain's Rest is a wonderful little venue and the long awaited pizza rocks hard. They had to draft in an extra chef especially for us! There Will Be Fireworks play a blinding set, as do our good friends The French Quarter. The crowd is a little rowdy before we play and I'd already been warned about asking them to be quiet. No need to worry, you could hear a pin drop. Elly vomits into her mouth at the start of The Long Lost, the blue lighting is magnificent and we play better than ever. The atmosphere is so intense it's almost unbearable. A beautiful show.
It's the last night and so Glasgow get the full Glissando party treatment at the awesome Nice n Sleazy's. So many nice people from the show are in the club and there is dancing and drinking a plenty.

Epic times.
